ART+ Spring Showcase

Welcome to the 2025 ART+ Spring Showcase presented by the Multicultural Artists’ Coalition!  

Join us for an evening of dance, spoken word, and live music performances by six professional artists living in Ottawa. Handpicked for their artistry, these performers bring styles, traditions, and perspectives from all over the world into movement, sound, and storytelling.

✨ Regis Mushimire – Street & Afro Dance 
✨ Mar x Maracle – Soul, Country & Punk

✨ Xavior Kayvon Gough – Spoken word

This is a place to connect with fellow artists, art lovers, learn new expressions of culture, and leave inspired. Drinks, light meals, and desserts will be available throughout the evening.

Akshata Rao is a semi-classical and Indian folk dance exponent with over 20 years of experience.

I am a young professional dancer with multiple experiences through dance competitions, as well as teaching for both adult and youth dance classes in Ottawa.

I dedicated a large part of my life to art and design, I studied design at university, but even before this I was already doing large murals all over my hometown

Mar x Maracle is a dynamic duo between Lucila Al Mar and Jacob Maracle, whose combined talents are reshaping the musical landscape.

As a Black, Nova Scotian-born, multidisciplinary artist, Xavior Kayvon Gough expresses his artistic passion through various mediums, including acrylic/mixed media on canvas, music,poetry,spoken word and writing, both in exhibitions and live performances.

I am Kezi, a singer/songwriter from Burundi, who's lived in Canada for 6 years. I am the daughter of a great traditional musician, from whom I learned everything I know.
