Regis Mushimire

My name is Mushimire Regis, also known as Regis Ochi, and I am multidisciplinary artist from Rwanda based in Ottawa, Canada. I’m a dancer, choreographer and dance instructor. My main interests are Afro dance, Hip Hop and contemporary dance. I’ve worked with multiple art collectives in Rwanda such as Amizero Dance Company, Mashirika and Next Move. I’ve also taught several Afro dance choreography classes at the Flava Factory studio here in Ottawa, as well as choreographed for music videos for artists in Rwanda and Canada. To me, dance is more than just an avenue of self-expression; it is an aude to our collective humanity, an embodiment of our beating hearts and life force.
