As the recipient of the Equity and Inclusion in the Arts grant in 2023, Xavior discovered a passion for uncovering Black Canadian history in Ottawa. Fueled by finding very limited, accessible information about Black Canadian history in the city he has been living in for 10 plus years. He firmly believes in the power of open conversations, even if difficult, to instigate change. Through his art, Xavior aims to be the voice that initiates these conversations and calls to action. He holds the conviction that if not us, then who? Xavior’s creative journey is an exploration of identity, history, and the transformative potential of art in fostering understanding and change. Live the life you love. See the colour!
