Join us for a hybrid information session on grants and opportunities presented by program officers from the City of Ottawa, and the Canada Council of the Arts. 

We will also launch the ART+ Grant Writing 101 program for newcomer and IBPOC artists and respond to your questions.

Meet Our Speakers

Marie-Christine Feraud

Since 2010, Marie-Christine Feraud has worked as a Cultural Funding Officer for the City of Ottawa.  administering such programs as the Equity and inclusion in the arts fund, Creation and production fund and the Arts funding program. She specializes in supporting media arts, visual arts, arts education, and dance disciplines. Prior to 2010, Marie-Christine worked at the Canada Council for the Arts and was a practicing artist and production designer.

Yasmina Proveyer

Born in Havana, Cuba, Yasmina Proveyer grew up in a musical family and trained in music, dance, and drama. She holds a bachelor’s in Theatre Arts and a master's diploma from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, where she spent nearly a decade exploring the performing arts in Asia.

After immigrating to Canada in 2008, she worked for over a decade supporting newcomers and was actively involved in Ottawa’s arts scene as an artist manager, event producer, and advocate. Since 2021, Yasmina has been a Cultural Funding Officer at the City of Ottawa, overseeing multiple funding programs and leading initiatives to improve accessibility for Indigenous and equity-deserving communities.

Isidra Cruz

Isidra Cruz is a Mexican/Cree arts administrator and costume designer. She has worked with the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Festival, the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council and the Indigenous Community Performing Arts Fund. Her most recent design credits include Two Odysseys: Pimooteewin / Gállábártnit, with Signal Theatre, This is How We Got Here, by Keith Barker, and Run Woman Run, by Zoe Hopkins. Isidra is currently a program officer in Creating, Knowing and Sharing: The Arts and Cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples at the Canada Council for the Arts.

Patricia Hidalgo Barr

Patricia Hidalgo Barr has been a Program Officer in the Explore and Create at the Canada Council for the Arts since 2023 focused on providing an accessible and respectful exchange of ideas. With twelve years as the director of a commercial art gallery, she created engaging and inclusive spaces that foster creativity and community, serving as a board member for SPAO Photographic Arts Centre, Westboro Village Business Association, and neighbourhood associations. Patricia has been passionate about bringing people together though events and exhibitions, successfully fundraising for several non-profit organizations such as Ottawa Riverkeeper, Cornerstone Housing for Women, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs and iSisters Technology Mentoring.
